I have been dragging my feet at the thought of starting a blog. Literally. I need to buy new work shoes because the rubber in the toes is worn down.
I just want to warn you, I will be going slowly. I've learned over the years that I am a person with really good intentions, I'll start off with a grand idea, go full speed at & then poop out approximately 20.3 seconds later. So the best thing for us both is to have low expectations. I will do my very best to add my thoughts & goings on here...slowly but surely. As in a crawl. Maybe a light stroll from time to time. But here's to 2018. I'm hoping to keep moving forward at whatever pace it may be. And may you do the same wherever you're at ;)
Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better."

Some folks embrace change, some loathe it...depending on the type. I happen to be in category of "very selective" in the types of changes I embrace: my underwear, my sheets, my furniture layout, the way I style my hair everyday (part on the other side, ponytail, or bun?). I can do all this with very little hesitation & a very enthusiastic "heck yeah!" But if you ask me to cut more than 2 inches of my hair, go more than 2 shades lighter, buy a new piece of furniture...or completely restructure my business (and Lord forbid, raise my rates!?). I will moan & drag my feet for at least a few months to a year over this upcoming decision. Which is exactly what I've been doing.
Over the past few years as a practitioner here in Canby, I've been working hard on being able to provide high quality bodywork services at very reasonable rates. This will always be my goal, yet at the same time I do need to be able to make enough to support myself & my daughter...and also take into account that I don't have paid vacation, sick time, insurance, or a retirement. With that being said, beginning in January 2018, you'll notice a few things different around here....
My website will actually be updated with more current information (I've been horrible in this department!), and services & rates will be structured differently.
One major difference would be in my rates. The main reason for this change would be the fact that I will no longer be taking tips. Yaaay for you! No more awkward moments thinking "Am I supposed to tip?...How much do I tip?.....I feel horrible, have no extra cash!" The only caveat will be that my rates will be increasing to reflect this change. Many of my regular clients have been aware that I've been wrestling with this change for at least a year now, and have been very supportive of this decision. I hope you will come to agree that these changes are definitely worth it.
Another new offering that a select few of my regular clients have already been introduced to is my Kneady Wellness Program, which is a monthly membership (at least one hour) for clients who want the benefits of regular bodywork at a discounted price (depending on the hours of massage "kneaded" each month), with many other fantastic benefits to boot! It is an invite only program for only the serious massage heads. If you'd like to learn more about this program, please feel free to ask me!
I will be rolling more changes over the next few weeks, so please be patient as I transition my websites.
